Social Media Trend Causing Distress to Local Residents |
||
|
You will note a previous correspondence from my colleague, PC Laura Wright, regarding the recent social media trend involving young people kicking or banging on the doors of residential properties before running away.
This evening, North Yorkshire Police received a further report of a similar incident on York Road, Tadcaster.
We are again appealing to parents, carers and guardians to speak with their children about their behaviour whilst out in the community. Whilst some may view this as harmless fun, such actions can cause significant fear, anxiety and distress to residents, particularly elderly or vulnerable members of our community who may feel intimidated or frightened by such behaviour.
We would also ask anyone who has witnessed these incidents, has CCTV, doorbell footage, or any information that may assist our enquiries to contact North Yorkshire Police.
We remain committed to working with our communities to identify those responsible and to prevent further incidents from occurring. | ||
