Have you captured dangerous driving on video? – Police want to hear from you

Have you captured dangerous or careless driving on your dashcam, CCTV, or a passenger’s mobile phone?

Operation Snap allows members of the public to submit footage of driving offences, helping to make North Yorkshire’s roads safer for everyone.

Examples include: 
Dangerous driving / Driving without due care
Using a mobile phone while driving
Failing to stop at a red light
Ignoring road signs
Crossing solid white lines

If you’ve captured an offence while going about your day, send it to North Yorkshire Police.

Their staff will review the footage the footage and, where appropriate, drivers may receive a visit for a chat about their driving, a fixed penalty, penalty points, or be summoned to court.

Remember: 
• Submit footage within 10 days of the incident
• Footage must be original and must cover 2 minutes before and 2 minutes after the event.
• The vehicle registration must be clearly visible
