We’re appealing for information following a spate of burglaries and attempted burglaries which have taken place in towns and villages in the Keighley area overnight this week.
In the early hours of 25th August, a house in Kildwick was accessed via an insecure door and five sets of car keys were stolen. The thieves were then interrupted by the residents.
In the early hours of 26th August, the garage of a house in Sutton-in-Craven was broken into and an electric bike was stolen worth £1500. An image of this bike is attached below. Please keep an eye out for this, especially on sites such as Facebook marketplace and eBay.
CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing but initial information suggests both offences have been committed by a group of three males.
If you live in this area, please be diligent in ensuring your doors are locked as CCTV shows these offenders are searching the area looking for insecure doors and windows.
Please also make sure any security systems or CCTV cameras are in good working order and activated overnight. If you see anything that you believe is suspicious, call 999 immediately.
If you have any information that could assist our investigation, like CCTV or suspicious vehicle sightings, please email hannah.parsons@northyorkshire.police.uk or all 101 and pass information for the attention of T/DC Hannah Parsons.
If you wish to remain anonymous, you can pass information to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online via their website.
