Calling Local Runners and Residents: Help Make Tadcaster Safer |
||
|
Hello,
Many of you may have heard about the ‘JogOn’ campaign, which was developed by West Yorkshire Police to tackle the harassment experienced by female runners and joggers.
Sadly, behaviours such as catcalling, unwanted comments, intimidation, and sounding vehicle horns at runners can leave people feeling uncomfortable, unsafe, and discouraged from exercising in their local community.
As a local Neighbourhood Policing Officer and a keen runner myself, I am interested in exploring whether a similar initiative could be developed here in North Yorkshire. Before taking this forward, I would like to gauge local interest and hear directly from those who may wish to become involved.
I am particularly keen to hear from: If this is something you would be interested in supporting, or if you would like to share your experiences, please get in touch with me.
Your feedback will help determine whether there is sufficient local interest to develop a community-led initiative aimed at promoting respect, safety, and confidence for runners across our area.
Thank you for your support and please feel free to share this message with residents who aren't connected on this service. | ||
