As we continue to enjoy the warmer weather and spend more time on our roads, please take a moment to consider these important safety tips for motorcyclists and cyclists:

10 Ways to Stay Safe on the Road

Always wear a helmet that fits correctly and meets safety standards.

Make yourself visible by wearing bright or reflective clothing, especially during poor weather or at night.

Use lights when needed, particularly during low light conditions, dawn, dusk, and at night.

Follow the Highway Code and obey all traffic signs and signals.

Stay alert and avoid distractions, including mobile phones, headphones, or anything that takes your attention away from the road.

Position yourself safely on the road where you can be seen by other road users.

Check your bike regularly, including tyres, brakes, lights, and chains.

Signal clearly and in good time before turning or changing direction.

Take extra care at junctions, where many collisions occur.

Be mindful of road conditions, including potholes, wet surfaces, loose gravel, and other hazards.

Whether you're travelling on two wheels for work, leisure, or exercise, your safety is paramount. By taking a few simple precautions, we can all help make our roads safer for everyone.
