Information required - Violent altercation Birch Park - 12260137102

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Violent crime, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

On Saturday 18th July at around 17:10 an altercation has taken place in the Birch Park area next to the Post Office Depot whereby a bald, shirtless male has attempted to attack another person with a knife. After an extensive search a male has been detained and arrested however the knife has not been located. It appears the knife is likely to have been dumped somewhere around Byland Ave, Middleham Ave, Monkton Rd or possibly within the nearby beck or surrounding vegetation.
If any residents sight a discarded or hidden knife described to have a long silver blade please contact North Yorkshire Police immediately quoting incident number 12260137102.
