Seeking' Good Samaritan' |

|
Good afternoon, Seeking the Northallerton railway station 'Good Samaritan'... We want to find - and thank - a member of the public who provided life-saving help during an incident at Northallerton railway station last month. On Friday 29 May, at about 10pm, we were called to reports that a heavily intoxicated and vulnerable man had climbed down onto the tracks. As we made our way to the scene, two brave members of the public managed to get him to safety - narrowly missing an oncoming train, and no doubt preventing a tragic outcome. The man was subsequently arrested and safeguarded by the police. We have identified one of the members of the public who assisted, a young man. We are now seeking details of the second person: a man who had to catch a train while our officers were still dealing with the incident. He is believed to have travelled home to Dubai. We want to formally recognise and praise their actions - so if you were involved in this incident, or know the man who was, please get in touch with PC 103 James Crawford - email james.crawford@northyorkshire.police.uk or call North Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting reference 12260098013.
