Community Update – Front Street Area |

Community Update – Front Street Area We’ve recently seen an increase in reports of alcohol-related anti-social behaviour in the Front Street shops area. In response, officers carried out patrols this evening to help keep the area safe and reassure those living and working nearby. During these patrols, a number of individuals were issued with dispersal notices. These allow officers to direct people to leave the area for up to 48 hours where their behaviour is causing, or is likely to cause, anti-social behaviour or disorder. Not complying with a dispersal notice is an offence and can lead to arrest. One female was arrested for being drunk and disorderly due to her behaviour and has since been charged with this, as well as breaching a dispersal notice. The same female, along with a male, was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class C drugs. We understand the impact this kind of behaviour can have on the community, and we want to reassure residents that we will continue high-visibility patrols in the area to deter further issues and provide support. Your reports really do make a difference, helping us to target problem areas and take action. Please continue to report any anti-social behaviour or crime to us via 101, or 999 in an emergency. Thank you for your continued support. | ||
