Dear Resident,

Heading off on Holiday? Don’t Make It Easy for Burglars

With the warmer weather and school holidays approaching, we often see an increase in opportunist burglaries.

Homes that appear empty or insecure are most at risk, so a few simple steps can make all the difference.

Before you head out this summer:

🔒 Double-check all doors and windows are locked

💡 Use timer lights to make your home look occupied

📦 Cancel deliveries or ask a neighbour to collect post

🪟 Keep valuables (keys, wallets, car fobs) out of sight

While you’re away:

🤝 Ask a trusted neighbour to keep an eye on your home

🚨 Set your alarm and consider CCTV or motion lighting

A visible, well‑secured home is far less likely to be targeted.

If something doesn’t feel right, report it. Your call could prevent a crime.
