Doorstep Callers

We are reminding residents to be cautious of doorstep callers offering goods or services, particularly for home repairs, gardening, cleaning, or maintenance work.

Please avoid agreeing to work or purchasing items from anyone who cold calls at your property. Rogue traders and scammers often use high-pressure tactics, demand cash payments, or claim urgent work is needed when it is not.

To protect yourself:
•  Do not agree to immediate work at the door
•  Never hand over cash or bank details to unexpected callers
•  Ask for identification and verify any company independently
•  Speak to family, friends, or neighbours before making decisions
•  Use reputable, trusted traders wherever possible

If you feel threatened, pressured, or believe a crime has taken place, please report it to police on 101 or call 999 in an emergency.

Remember - No one will ask for your personal banking information, passwords or Pins - Not your bank or Police.  

Please also check on elderly or vulnerable neighbours who may be more susceptible to this type of scam.
