Off Road Bikes and the law - Did you know?? |

Subject: Concerns Regarding Off-Road Bike Use on Public Paths and Roads
I would like to address ongoing concerns about the use of off-road bikes on public paths and roads within our local area. We have received multiple reports from residents highlighting the negative impact this activity is having on the community. These issues include excessive noise, damage to public spaces, safety risks to pedestrians and other road users, and general anti-social behaviour. Many of the bikes are being ridden in areas where they are not permitted and, in some cases, without appropriate insurance, registration, or safety equipment.
This type of behaviour not only puts riders at risk but also poses a significant danger to members of the public, including families, children, and elderly residents who use these paths daily.
We want to remind all individuals that off-road bikes must only be used in designated areas and in accordance with the law. Riding on public roads or footpaths without proper documentation is illegal and subject to enforcement action, including vehicle seizure and potential prosecution.
We are continuing to work with partner agencies and will be increasing patrols in affected areas. Residents are encouraged to report incidents, providing as much detail as possible, including locations, times, and descriptions, to support our ongoing efforts.
We appreciate the community’s cooperation in helping to address this issue and ensure our public spaces remain safe and accessible for everyone.
I have included a PDF for you…..feel free to share with friends and family.
Thanks for your time, with your help reporting this issue, together we will combat this. | ||
