Witness appeal following suspicious incident in Thirsk 

We are appealing for information following a report of suspicious activity in the Thirsk area this afternoon.

A grey, transit-style van with a sliding side door was seen in the area the Hambo Shop on Hambleton Place between approximately 2.30pm and 2.50pm, where it was reported to be acting in suspicious circumstances.

A girl, believed to be around 16-years-old, was also seen nearby. She is described as being of slim build, approximately 5ft 4in tall, with long dark hair. She was wearing black leggings and a white puffer-style jumper.

Anyone who saw the van, the girl, or has any information that could assist our enquiries is asked to come forward. Please call North Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote reference number 12260087582 when passing on information.
