Police Engage with Community at Highfield Care Home

Earlier today, PCSO Sykes and PC Woods visited Highfield Care Home, Barkston Ash as part of ongoing community engagement work, providing a welcomed opportunity to meet with residents, staff, and visiting members of the public.

The visit allowed for positive conversations with residents and care home staff, strengthening links between local policing teams and the community. 

A key focus of the event was crime prevention, with PCSO Sykes and PC Woods sharing practical advice around fraud awareness. They discussed common fraud tactics currently affecting communities and offered guidance on how residents can best protect themselves, including being cautious with unsolicited calls, emails, and requests for personal information.

The event was well received and highlighted the importance of face‑to‑face engagement in promoting safety, reassurance, and trust.

PCSO Sykes and PC Woods look forward to returning to Highfield Care Home in July, where they will attend another community event and continue building relationships while offering further crime prevention advice.
