Deaf Awareness Week – Community Drop‑In Sessions

To mark Deaf Awareness Week, your local Safer Neighbourhood Team will be holding community drop‑in sessions to raise awareness of hearing impairments and to offer support within our local communities.

The sessions will be supported by Coastline Sight and Hearing, North Yorkshire Council and Victim Support, who will also be in attendance to offer specialist advice, information, and guidance.

Residents will have the opportunity to:

Speak with members of the Safer Neighbourhood Team in a relaxed and informal setting

Seek advice, raise concerns, or ask questions

Learn more about local services and support available

Drop‑In Dates & Locations:

5th May, 1pm–2:30pm @Derwent Valley Bridge Library (*North Yorkshire Council will not be attending this drop-in session*)

7th May, 1pm–2:30pm @ Filey Library (*Victim Support will not be attending this drop-in session*)

The drop‑in sessions are open to everyone, including people who are deaf or hard of hearing, their families, carers, and anyone wishing to learn more.

Whether you need advice, support, or simply want to find out what help is available, you are welcome.
