Update regarding Police incident in Knaresborough

We were called to a residential address in Marbled White Place just after 8am today (Wednesday 22 April).

 A stand-off lasting several hours ensued after a man at the address refused to leave or allow a woman at the address to leave.

 Following negotiations, the man who is in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment and has been taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains under close police supervision.

Officers are emphasising that the incident has now concluded and is being treated as isolated. There has been a police presence in the area to deal with the incident and Neighbourhood Policing Team officers will be on patrol to provide continued support to the local community this evening.
