Community Message – Tackling Anti‑Social Behaviour in Derwenthorpe

We’ve recently been working closely with partners and residents to develop a structured plan for tackling anti‑social behaviour (ASB) in and around Derwenthorpe. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be focusing on the following key areas:

Increased visibility during peak times to reassure residents and deter anti‑social behaviour.

• Partnership working:
Continuing joint work with housing providers, council teams, youth services, and local community groups to identify long‑term solutions.

• Early engagement with young people:
Working with schools and youth outreach teams to provide positive interventions and divert young people away from harmful behaviour.

• Reporting and intelligence gathering:
Encouraging residents to report incidents so we can build an accurate picture and take proportionate action. Your information helps us identify patterns, hotspots, and individuals involved.

• Community involvement:
We’ll be arranging opportunities for residents to share concerns, speak directly with officers, and contribute to shaping the ongoing response.
