Parking concerns Camblesforth village |
||
|
Please be advised that North Yorkshire Police has received reports regarding parking concerns relating to Camblesforth village, specifically at school drop off and pick up times. The report details an escalation in the incidents of dangerous parking witnessed outside the school and along the length of Mill Lane at school opening and closing times leading towards the Chapel. Cars are reported to double park, park on pavements, around the bend of the lane causing obstruction offences and to block driveways.
To ensure the safety of children, residents and all who enjoy the village, can we ask that vehicle users adhere to parking restrictions set outside school and be mindful when parking elsewhere in the village.
When dropping off or picking children up from schools, you should do the following:
• Allow yourself plenty of time as the area is likely to be busy. • Do not park on yellow zigzag lines and do not park opposite them. • If you decide to park further away, do not park dangerously and please be considerate of residents and avoid blocking driveways or access ways.
Although many parking offences were decriminalised a few years ago and are now enforced by the council, police continue to deal with dangerous parking and that where complete obstruction is evidenced at the time.
The safety of all is of paramount importance, please help us to help keep our young community and residents safe from harm and upset.
