Use of traffic cones in the Village |
||
|
Good Morning, It has been bought to our attention by the Parish Council that some residents are using traffic cones to reserve parking outside their home address in Askrigg. Please be aware that only authorised people are permitted to place traffic cones on public roads and pavements. These are councils, the Police and licensed traffic management contractors working on approved projects. Unauthorised placement to reserve parking is illegal under the Highways Act 1980 and can result in fines of £100-£1,000. If your access is being obstructed then you can contact North Yorkshire Council and seek the correct permissions to place a cone to prevent this. Please also be aware that unless you have bought your own cone/s to use at present, these belong to an agency and keeping them could be viewed as theft. If you are one of the residents using a cone to reserve parking then please stop. Thank You Heather | ||
