This new year - what can you improve to keep your home and belongings secure?

We have made it to 2026! Christmas has been and gone and it’s time to make those new years resolutions. 

We visited A LOT of residents in Scarborough area in 2025, and a lot of people still leave their front doors and/ or vehicles unlocked. Burglars are often opportunistic thieves who seek our any opening they can take advantage of, especially doors and windows which are left open. 

A new years resolution suggestion for all: ensure you keep your home and belongings safe and secure! 

Take some time to have a look how can you improve the security of your home and vehicle? check: have you locked doors and windows? have you left any expensive items visible?

This month you can find Neighbourhood team at Morrisons on Sunday 11th 1-3pm, Filey library Thursday 15th 2-4pm, Cayton chapel drop in Thursday 22nd from 11:30-12:30 and Proudfoots, High street, Eastfield Saturday 31st 1:30-3pm.
