🗨️𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀?🚔🚒 

 We’re asking for your views your views on next year’s council tax contributions – known as precepts – for police and fire services. 

Everyone in York and North Yorkshire deserves to be safe and to feel safe. Our police and fire services are vital to that. 

The consultation offers several options, ranging from the level of funding needed to maintain current services, to options that which would allow further investment in priorities such as: 

👮‍♀️neighbourhood policing 

👨‍🚒prevention and early intervention 

🧯improvements to equipment 

🚸investment in road safety 

The Mayor will make his decision early next year, based on the principles of placing the lowest possible burden on local taxpayers, while ensuring effective, well managed public services that keep people safe and deliver value for money.
