Have you heard about what3words?  

what3words (w3w) has divided the globe into 3m squares and given each square a unique 3-word address. This means that everywhere can be located with just 3 words.  

North Yorkshire Police, North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue, Yorkshire Ambulance Service and the UK Coastguard are amongst the emergency services in our area which use w3w.  

An example of how useful this system is – one of our team was in the cemetery on Dean Road at 11pm. They needed ambulance colleagues to find them, as they were with a medical emergency. Trying to explain which path to go down, in a dark graveyard was impossible. By providing the w3w location, the ambulance team arrived within minutes.
