New Service Directory of support services now available to York and North Yorkshire Residents

A new online service directory has been developed by York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority who have worked with a network of local multi-agency partners to create an area where services and organisations offering specialist support to women and girls across the region can be found in one place.

The network of partners wanted to make a directory that was easily accessible and allows residents of York and North Yorkshire to view a wide range of local services who offer dedicated, gender-specific and trauma-informed support to women & girls who need it, such as those who are victims or at risk of exploitation, violence, and crime.

Some of these services are available across York and North Yorkshire, whilst others are targeted in specific areas.

Jo Coles, Deputy Mayor of York and North Yorkshire for Policing, Fire and Crime said: 
“Everyone deserves to feel safe in our region and David Skaith, the Mayor, and I are committed to halving the appalling level of violence against women and girls in our communities.

“We know that it can be hard for victims and survivors to know where they can access advice and support. This new service directory provides a one-stop-shop for the support and services available to those affected by crime in our region, regardless of whether they have reported incidents to the police.

“You can scan the QR code or go to the link to find the details of support in each part of our region.
“We will continue to work closely with partners to ensure we do everything we can to make sure women and girls here in York and North Yorkshire are safe and feel safe.”
