Good morning, Filey!

Yesterday, our local Neighbourhood Policing Team had the pleasure of visiting Filey Junior School to share some exciting news with the pupils.

We’ve launched a new competition for the children to take part in over the holidays. The challenge? Create a project that brings smiles to members of our community! Each year group was spoken to individually, and the enthusiasm was brilliant — the ideas they came up with were inspiring. Thanks to generous support from local businesses, there are some fantastic prizes up for grabs!

We were also invited to the school’s end-of-week assembly, where we celebrated the amazing work the children have been doing. It was great to see the well-earned “Filey Star of the Week” awards handed out. The highlight of the day was the presentation of a certificate and prize to the winner of the summer road safety poster competition, set up by the local council. Their design was outstanding and has now been printed onto a large banner that will be proudly displayed on the school railings for everyone to see.

A huge well done to all the children involved — your creativity and community spirit are something to be proud of.
