Appeal after 2-in-1 Burglary


Police are urging members of the public to call the police if they see suspicious activity after two vehicles were stolen in a 2-in-1 burglary that occurred during the early hours of Wednesday 11th June 2025.

 

A 2-in-1 burglary is when someone gains access to a property and steals the car keys and subsequently a vehicle.

 

The incident occurred at an address of Fairfax Gardens, Newton Kyme and similar incidents have been reported across the force area to which officers are working to identify those responsible. 

 

On this occasion two vehicles were stolen from the address, a BMW 5 Series and a Mercedes GLA. 

 

Officers would continue to advise people to keep doors and windows locked even when at home, use key safes or use anti-theft key pouches to help prevent keyless thefts. Please also store keys away from mailboxes, as some criminals use hooks to try to reach keys via letter boxes to steal vehicles.

 

Anyone who witnesses suspicious activity is asked to contact police straight away, by calling 101.
