Another travelling criminal arrested, this time a shoplifter:

Early afternoon on Monday 28th April 2025 we received a report from Hambleton CCTV to say that earlier in the day a male has been seen acting suspiciously in shops around Northallerton High Street.

The male had been seen going into Lakeland where he tried to steal a hand mixer but staff managed to stop him, later that afternoon the male went into Barkers but due to the shop watch radio security were ready for him and he left empty handed, after leaving Barkers he went to Holland and Barratts, before going into Mountain Warehouse.

CCTV continued to update officers of the males location so officers from response and neighbourhoods managed to stop him on South Parade. After a search we recovered various items in his possession so was arrested on suspicion of Theft. Some of the items that we found are attached.

The male was also wanted on recall to prison.

This was a great piece of teamwork from Hambleton CCTV the local shop watch and sends another message to any travelling criminal that comes to Northallerton.
