We are currently investigating the discovery of equipment attached to an ATM in Skipton designed to obtain card details

At approximately 6pm on Weds 22nd Jan offenders have attached a scamming device to the Nat West ATM located at the bottom of Skipton High Street

Thankfully an alert member of the public noticed suspicious looking wires and removed the equipment - we believed designed to obtain card details of those using the ATM

It is not believed that any card details have been obtained at this time

Were you on the High Street around this time? Did you see anyone acting suspiciously around the location? Any suspicious looking vehicles?

We would like to take to take the opportunity to remind members of the public to be vigilant when using ATMs 

If you see something suspicious such as unexplained wires or loose fitting check them

Always cover you PIN with either your hand, wallet or purse

Be aware of you surroundings and anyone that maybe standing close by or behind you

If you find any thing suspicious or are unhappy pls inform the bank or owner of location of ATM and the Police
