Leases Road

Resident

Leeming Bar, Leases Road

Dear Resident

The Safer Hambleton Hub is based at North Yorkshire Council but works as a partnership between different organisations to reduce, prevent or detect crime, disorder, and anti-social behaviour across the Hambleton locality.

We hold working groups, where agencies and professionals meet and through these recent discussions with other services including the local Neighbourhood Policing Team, we have become aware of some drivers causing issues and speeding in the locality of Leases Road area.

Very few incidents have been reported to either North Yorkshire Police or North Yorkshire Council Highways and so we are trying to determine the extent of the issues of which we have been made aware.  The purpose of this letter is not to cause any resident alarm, but to ask for your assistance in trying to deal with any issues that may have occurred.

We would like to take the opportunity to remind residents that it is essential that incidents of anti-social behaviour are reported to the Police, as they occur, via the 101-telephone number or 999 if the crime is in progress to allow a pattern of behaviour to be understood and action to be taken.

Facebook or other social media posts do not result in recorded incidents and therefore action cannot be taken to rectify any situation if the issues are not formally reported and recorded.

With regards to speeding concerns please look at:

  • www.northyorkshire.police.uk for information
  • or email speedconcerns@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
  •

If you would prefer to report any historical information in relation to any issues which you may be aware of, you can email into the Safer Hambleton at safer.ham@northyorks.gov.uk All contact can be done anonymously if you would feel more comfortable doing so.

We require every resident’s assistance because we can only work with the evidence that we have.

Your full co-operation therefore is not only appreciated but vital for us to deal with any issues and ensure that residents of this area are able to enjoy their neighbourhood without any concerns.

    Yours Faithfully
