I wanted to make you all aware, there’s been a rise in ‘Thefts from unlocked motor vehicles’ in the York area. Burglars are often opportunistic thieves who prey on unlocked vehicles. Here’s a couple of basic tips for you: Ensure all your vehicle windows are up and car doors are lockedDon’t leave any personal items on show in the vehicle. Ideally remove any sat nav/laptops/mobile phones and take them inside with youIf possible, park your vehicle on a driveway / under security lighting or street lightingIf you see anything suspicious in your community, please report it immediately via 101 or 999.
